For a lot of internet marketers, one of the goals is to cut to the chase and not
waste time. Rather than spending a lot of time on preparing to sell a product,
they'd rather just jump right into selling it. To this end, they'll purchase
products with resell rights and then sell those. As you've learned, this is
actually a very effective, quick and easy way of becoming a successful internet
marketer. However, some internet marketers make the big mistake of taking the
shortcut method a step further. They use out of the box salesletters and hope to
still sell a ton of products. As we'll soon find out, this is a bad idea.
Out of the Box Salesletters
To sell more resell rights products, people will often include bonuses to entice
internet marketers (like you) to buy the products. One of these bonuses is that
of the salesletter. Anyone who is involved in internet marketing knows that a
salesletter can make or break sales, so it's logical to offer customers the
chance to get not just a resell product, but also a salesletter with it.
Why Premade Salesletters Don't Work
When you purchase a resell rights product, you have to realize that the same
product is possibly being sold to millions of other marketers. Thus, you're in
competition with a lot of other people. A premade salesletter is usually very
generic. It is not specific to any one site or business.
Let's assume that of all those other marketers, 50% use that premade salesletter.
You do the same and you notice that you're really not selling as many products
as you would have hoped. Why is this happening? It's probably because of the
fact that your product is basically the exact same thing offered by tons of
other internet marketers. It's the same not because of the contents of it, but
because of the salesletter. People see your salesletter and feel they have seen
it before. And they have on other sites. You've done nothing to separate
yourself and your product from lots of other internet marketers.
5 Easy Steps to Make a Salesletter Your Own
You don't have to start fresh and write a whole new salesletter. You can take
the present salesletter and turn it into something that is unique.
Step #1: Read through the Salesletter and Decide if You'll Do it Yourself
A lot of internet marketers opt to hire someone to rewrite the salesletter for
them. If you're not particularly fond of writing, you might want to consider
doing this.
Step #2: Evaluate
Take a good look at the out of the box salesletter and decide where the most
generic parts of it are. Then set forth to rewrite those parts, adding in
information about your site while also talking heavily about the product.
Step #3: Rewrite
After you have decided what parts to edit, it's time to actually do it. Begin
rewriting every part of the salesletter, taking out the parts which are generic
and adding in vital information about your business and the product. Basically,
just make the salesletter your own.
Step #4: Compare to the Original
Read your salesletter and then the original one. Compare the two. When you've
finished reading both, do you feel you've read the same thing twice? If so,
you'll need to do a bit more rewriting.
Step #5: Check Grammar and Spelling
No one likes a salesletter that is full of grammatical errors. Always check your
grammar and spelling before putting up the salesletter on your site.
