Your Fears Hold You Back From Success

There are so many keys to success that it’s hard to list them all. But one thing I just realized of late that I find holds a lot of people back from achieving that success is fear. In this post, I’m going to explain exactly what I mean. Hopefully, after reading it, you’ll know what I’m talking about and you won’t let fear get in the way of YOUR success.

The most common way for people to attempt making a living online is to hit the search engines and start looking for things to do. They don’t really have any clear cut goals in mind. They just want to do something. While this is a mistake right from the start, at least it’s a start. The problem is, they’ll see something that looks plausible and they’ll say something like, “I can’t do that” or “That’s too hard” or “What if it doesn’t work?” I can go on and on, but you know what I’m talking about. It’s the fear of the unknown or more specifically, the fear of failure. Yes, we are all afraid to fail. But if you look at it logically, it’s that fear that is actually causing us to do the one thing that we’re afraid of, fail.

By not acting on our desires, we are dooming ourselves to failure. Sure, we might attempt to do something and maybe it’s not right for us. Maybe we don’t have the talent for it. But we’re not going to know unless we do it. Notice I did not say the word “try.”

There is a very famous quote from one of the original Star Wars with Luke Skywalker when he was being mentored by Yoda. Luke told Yoda that he’d try. Yoda’s response was simple and straight to the point.

“There is no try. Do, or do not. There is no try.”

Truer words have never been spoken. You’re either going to do something or you’re not going to do it. There is no in-between as that is the same as not doing it at all.

This doesn’t mean that you will succeed in everything that you attempt. But without the attempt, there is no chance of success. And to let fear get in your way, to say to yourself that you can’t do this or you’re afraid you’ll fail, is just ridiculous. After all, what is the worst that can happen if you try something that you’re never done before? You fall flat on your face? So what? You might just learn something from the experience that will help you in the future.

So the next time you’re confronted with doing something new, remember, if you don’t give it a shot, you may be giving up the best opportunity that you ever ran into.

And won’t you just hate yourself for that.

Do You Have A Strategy?

I've often heard it said that "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail."

In the online business world, this also applies.

If you really want your online business to be a success, then you need to take the time to come up with a plan instead of just randomly jumping from opportunity to opportunity hoping that the next time will be one where you "hit it big."

What ends up happening is you waste a whole lot of money, time, and by the seventh or eigth opportunity you realize that if you had just stuck with one of your first ventures and really committed to making it a success you would have already have a thriving Internet business.

So what should you do?  Well, if you're new to this whole Internet marketing thing, you need to first learn how this whole Internet marketing thing works.  Get yourself one of the basic Internet marketing courses to get started.  Next, find ONE system and follow it exclusively.  Focus all of your attention on making this one system work for you.  Become an expert in your field.  After 6-12 months of following this one system you'll likely find that you're already a success.  However, if you're not and things aren't going well yet, then it may be time to reevaluate what you're doing and possibly move on to a different opportunity.  In this case, what you're doing is very different from just hopping around because you gave it a good faith effort.
