Delivering Info Products
The Internet has opened many doors, and made many things possible. Automation is one of those things. You really can make money while you sleep with the automation that the Internet gives us. It is just a question of knowing how to use automation to your advantage, to get your product delivered.
These days, people want instant gratification. This means that when they have completed the ordering process, they expect delivery of the product. You need automation for this, and most payment processors work with you on this automation.
After your customer reads the sales page, they are then taken to the order page. From there, they are taken to a page that thanks them for their purchase, and downloading instructions are delivered at this point – either via webpage or via email.
Some marketers believe that email delivery of downloading instructions is best, while others believe that webpage download instructions work better. This is your choice, and you will have to determine what will work best for your customers.
The size of the download makes a big difference as well. If the product is large, you might want to compress it. If you do this, however, you must provide instructions for opening the compressed file. If the file is small, and only contains one file, compression is not usually necessary.
You might need to break the product up into several files, if it is large. For example, a video series will be a large download, and should be broken up into separate compressed files.
Create a troubleshooting page that contains descriptions of common download problems that may be faced, and how to correct them. This will cut down on a great deal of customer support issues and refund requests. You need to make the entire thing as easy and as automated as possible.
If someone orders at 2:00 in the morning, they do not want to have to wait until 9:00 in the morning to get their problem resolved. Obviously, in most cases, it won’t pay for you to offer 24 hour support. Make sure that the support is automated as much as possible!
Also, when a problem with downloading comes into play, make sure that you either make corrections to the procedure that will help others to avoid the same problem, or provide instructions for getting around the problem.
