Working With Private Label Rights
Private Label Rights offer something that resell rights and master resell rights cannot offer you. First, if you have private label rights to a product, you also in most cases have the resell rights and the master resell rights to that product. As mentioned earlier, the only real drawback to a PLR product is that it is not a ‘finished’ product, despite how ‘finished’ it may appear to be.
Here are some tips for working with private label rights products:
- Go into the PLR purchase knowing that changes must be made, and be prepared to make those changes so that you can get the product to market as fast as possible.
- Change the title of the product. If the product is an ebook, change chapter and sub-chapter titles as well. Don’t assume that this is all that must be changed however. Hire a ghostwriter to rewrite the product.
When the ghost writer is finished, the product has all of the same information – but it is written or said in a unique way. Ghostwriters don’t charge as much for rewrites as they do for fresh content, because the research is already done.
- As with a resell rights product, completely change the sales page and all graphics, including the ecover for the product.
- When the product is redone, make sure it bears little or no resemblance to the original product, with the exception of being related to the same topic.
- Give your product more value, without making huge changes. One way to do this is to change the presentation of the content. For example, if you’ve purchased a PLR ebook, you could turn that ebook into a video broadcast. You could also turn it into a PowerPoint Presentation that is a bit more ‘fancy’ than the ebook. There are many options. Explore them.
- Know when to give, and when to receive. With PLR products, there is no set price that you must sell the product for. You are free to give the products away. These products can be used to build an opt-in list, or as bonuses.
- Push your own name before you push someone else’s. If you have a resell product, with someone else’s name on it, and a PLR product that has been redone, and now has your name on it, make the PLR product the main product for sale, and offer the resell product as a bonus.
- Private Label Rights makes it easier to ‘pair’ products. For example, if you are a reseller for a software product, you could find PLR articles on that topic that can easily be turned into an informative ebook that will nicely accompany the software.
- Join a quality, limited membership PLR club. This will not only keep you in fresh PLR content, but it will also make the content more value, because it is only available to a certain number of people.
- You don’t have to pay a lot for a PLR product. As long as the information is correct, the product itself does not need to be a higher quality product. Because you have creative control with PLR material, you can easily turn a low quality product into a top quality product.
- Use your PLR articles to promote your other products. A PLR articles typically does not require many changes – although changes must be made. It is very easy and fast to make those changes, and then you have a ‘ready to go’ promotional tool for anything else that you are selling. Don’t ignore the value of a set of PLR articles, as opposed to a full-fledged PLR product.
These PLR articles can be used for article repositories, email courses, web pages, or anything else that you want to use them for in the promotion of your other products.
- In your search for PLR products, you will discover PLR audios. These are typically done with professional voice overs, and they are great products. Unfortunately, you can’t change the audio.
What you can do, however, is listen to it, and then create your own audio – with either your own voice or that of a professional – based on the information that the PLR audio contains. Because it was a PLR product to begin with, you won’t be infringing on copyrights. A great idea is to use the PLR article as material for a podcast. Podcasts are very easy to do these days – and quite popular.
Again, try to avoid just seeking out one particular license. There is nothing wrong with using a mix of resell rights products, master resell rights products, and Private label rights products. By doing so, you are only increasing the revenue possibilities overall.
The important thing about PLR is to make it as unique as possible. Once again, the only drawback is that you must make changes to the product before you can use it, unlike resell rights products.
